Ministry of Social Affairs Social Assistance is Present for the Residents of Rancasari District Bandung City

BANDUNG (October 24, 2020) - The Ministry of Social Affairs is increasing its attention by distributing aid to people affected by COVID-19.

Located at the Nurul Huda Mosque, Cipamokolan Village, Rancasari District, Bandung City, the Director General of Social Empowerment, Edi Suharto, symbolically handed over 350 social assistance packages from the Ministry of Social Affairs. This assistance in the form of basic food packages was given to residents affected by COVID-19 in RW 11 Mekarjaya Village and RW 06 Cipamokolan Village.

"The Ministry of Social Affairs during this pandemic acted quickly to prioritize meeting the needs of residents who were increasingly squeezed by the pandemic. All of our cooperation is very meaningful to the people around us. Because the COVID-19 pandemic has been felt so evenly," said Edi Suharto.

The presence of Edi Suharto and his entourage was welcomed by the Head of Rancasari Sub-district, Hamdani.

"Today is a happy day and is very much awaited by residents. We warmly welcome and thank the Ministry of Social Affairs for the assistance of the Ministry of Social Affairs. This assistance is planned to be given to hawkers, snack sellers in schools, closed SMEs, laborers factories, security guards, pedicab drivers, farmers and casual daily laborers such as construction workers," said Hamdani.

Jamaludin (23), a security guard at Cipaganti Regency, really felt the impact of the prolonged pandemic.

"Before there was Corona, on holidays it was okay to look for a side as a construction worker. Now it's hard to ask for forgiveness. Thank God, I am very grateful to the Ministry of Social Affairs for the help," said Jamaludin.

Also present at the handover were the Secretary of the Directorate General of Social Empowerment, the Head of the Sub-Directorate of Social Welfare Institutions, the Head of the Household Subsection of the Directorate General of Social Empowerment, the Chairperson of the Nurul Huda Mosque DKM, the Mekarjaya Village Head, the Head of RW 06 Cipamokolan Village, and the Secretary of RW 11 Mekarjaya Village.
