Ministry of Social Affairs Strengthens Psychosocial Support for Family Crew of KRI Nanggala 402
SIDOARJO (April 27, 2021) - The Ministry of Social Affairs through the "Wyata Guna" Disability Center in Bandung provided psychosocial support and mental strengthening to the families of the crew of the KRI Nanggala 402 who died in the waters north of Bali.
Head of the Wyata Guna Bandung Disability Center Sudarsono together with the Psychosocial Support Service Team (LDP) visited the family home of Serda Lutfi Anang, Serda Bambang Priyanto, and Classroom Head of Distriyan Andi Prasetya in Sidoarjo Regency, East Java. Sudarsono and the team expressed their condolences for the disaster that occurred.
The LDP team provided mental reinforcement to clear up suppressed emotions, helped the victims' families to express their feelings openly to reduce their mental burden, and helped revive the spirit of life for the KRI Nanggala 402 Crew family.
This psychosocial support was provided to the families of the victims of Serda Bambang Priyanto, namely Serda Bambang's wife Happy Liswiyani (40 years), a housewife, and 3 children of the deceased, namely Rasya (15 years, grade 8), Miftah (12 years, grade 5 SD) and Al Khalifi (5 years). Serda Bambang P (40 years) has served for about 15 years in the Indonesian Navy and his last position in KRI Nanggala 402 was as a helmsman.
Happy tried her best to sincerely accept the departure of her husband, including being honest with her three children that their father had died on duty. The deepest sadness was felt by her first child, Rasya, who was still gloomy and didn't talk much. Meanwhile, her second child seemed more resilient, she even said "I usually go to school with daddy, but not anymore". Meanwhile, Al Khalifi, the youngest, remains cheerful, even though he says he doesn't have a father anymore.
LDP Team member Asep Solihin (Social Worker) said that the team helps reduce mental burdens through home sharing with nearby victims' families and raises children's joy by inviting them to gather and play with their peers. According to one of Serda Bambang's older siblings, with today's meeting the atmosphere in the family seemed more lively.
The LDP team also provided mental reinforcement to the family of Marine Head Distrian Andy Prasetya (32 years). Andy has served 4 years on KRI Nanggala 402 as an electro weapon (ETA). The deceased left a wife, namely Ratih Andriana Eka Putri (30 years) and one daughter named Zahla Zahra Dzakira (6 years) who is still in kindergarten.
At first, Ratih was still devastated by her husband's departure, seemed to daydream a lot, and was desolate. From the beginning, she felt that she had not eaten well and had difficulty sleeping when she heard the news that KRI Nanggala 402 had lost contact.
The LDP team continues to strive to provide encouragement and provide reinforcement that others feel the same way. The LDP Team's efforts made Mrs. Ratih feel confident again to tell about herself, her activities, and the feelings she experienced after hearing the news of her husband's death.
Ratih said that while continuing to try to be enthusiastic about raising her child and would be more serious about carrying out her work as a midwife. The family also told Ratih's daughter, Zahla, that her father had died while on duty. The child kept crying and wanted her father to come home. Zahla said, "Abi (father) will definitely come home". The LDP team invited Zahla to play, joke, tell stories and hang out with other family members. This moment was used to raise spirits and reduce Zahla's mental stress due to the loss of her father.
The Regent of Sidoarjo, Ahmad Muhdlor, during a visit to the victim's house in Kriyan District, expressed his condolences and must be strong in facing this ordeal. Ahmad Muhdlor assigned the Head of the Sidoarjo Social Office, the Education and Culture Office, and related agencies to maximally help the victims' families and will help with scholarships for children's education, health, and other needs.
