BOYOLALI (January 29, 2021) - The Ministry of Social Affairs through the Wyata Guna Disability Center in Bandung distributed assistance to Persons with Visual Disabilities (PDSN) affected by the eruption of Mount Merapi as a follow-up to the Identification and Assessment. Wyata Guna Case Response Team which was dispatched on January 27, 2021.

Food packages assistance for 39 PDSN people and entrepreneurship support assistance for 3 PDSN people were handed over directly by Sudarsono as Head of the Wyata Guna Visual Disability Center in Bandung. The Head of Selo District, Boyolali regency also conveyed his gratitude to the Ministry of Social Affairs, and hoped that the assistance provided would be beneficial in helping to increase the fulfillment of the needs of the visually impaired.

The basic food packages containing rice, cooking oil, sardines, corned beef, biscuits, instant noodles, and personal hygiene kits were received directly by the recipients in Selo sub-district, Boyolali district and witnessed directly by Selo district officials, village officials, District Social Workers (TKSK) and family beneficiaries. Likewise with the assistance of money worth a total of IDR 3.950.000 for business support, which is given according to the needs of people with visual impairments.

On the same occasion, Sudarsono, Head of the Wyata Guna Visual Disability Center, conveyed to beneficiaries so that they can make the best use of the aid, and can help the needs of the recipients in conditions affected by the current Merapi eruption.

Ristianti (Ika), the recipient of the entrepreneurship support assistance, thanked the Ministry of Social Affairs and will use the assistance as needed, so that it will help increase the business of selling egg rolls/cilor. Meanwhile, Mrs. Waginah, the recipient of the basic food aid, was grateful for the assistance she received, because it was very useful for her daily needs.

The handover of the aid again shows that the Ministry of Social Affairs through the Wyata Guna Disability Center in Bandung provides a quick response to conditions that require immediate handling, including disaster emergency situations, as a form of implementation of Social Rehabilitation Assistance (ATENSI).
