MoSA Commemorates HLUN with Elderly in Cikalong District

TASIKMALAYA (May 29, 2022) - Every May 29, we commemorate the 26th National Elderly Day (HLUN) in 2022. The date was chosen as a form of appreciation for the role of Dr. KRT. Radjiman Wedyodiningrat chaired the BPUPKI session on May 29, 1945. This indicated that the elderly participated in sparking important ideas for the Indonesian nation.

Since it was first launched in 1996, this year is the 26^th HLUN celebration. There was something different about this year's celebration, where Tasikmalaya Regency, West Java was appointed as the host. MoSA as the organizer spreads the lively celebration of the 26th HLUN in 2022 directly in 39 sub-districts in the Tasikmalaya Regency area.

The highlight of the HLUN event was held in the main arena at Singaparna Medika Citra Utama Hospital. Meanwhile, the elderly in 39 sub-districts are directly connected via teleconference. Minister of Social Affairs Tri Rismaharini, through a teleconference, said that we all love and care for the elderly because we will all become elderly someday.

"I have met a lot of elderly who have been neglected by their children. I want this not to happen again. Especially with the demographic bonus, the number of elderly in the future will increase," she said.

Meanwhile, the elderly in Cikalong Sub-district also participated in the HLUN celebration. A total of 98 elderly came directly to the location while still implementing health protocols. The elderly in Cikalong District were greeted directly by the Minister of Social Affairs and elements of the Forkopimda of Tasikmalaya Regency.

The Head of Handayani Center, Anna Puspasari the person in charge of the Cikalong District, said that Handayani Center together with the District officials had been preparing for this activity for a long time with the hope of realizing "Healthy Elderly, Strong Indonesia".

"We have been preparing for today's celebration for a long time. We have deployed our team to carry out an assessment and then distribute the assistance and today is the peak event. We have prepared a teleconference, health checks, and also exercise for the elderly today," said Anna.

Meanwhile, the Head of Cikalong Sub-district, Mislu Ahmad Mahmudin, who was present at the teleconference, expressed his gratitude to MoSA for the assistance that has been given to the elderly in his area.
