INDRAMAYU (November 14, 2024) – The Ministry of Social Affairs continues accelerating the development of basic facilities in the Prosperous Fishermen's Village, Eretan Kulon Village, Kandanghaur District, Indramayu Regency. The provision of essential needs such as clean water installations and electricity networks is a top priority to improve the welfare of the local community.
In a Focus Group Discussion (FGD) with many Regional Work Units (SKPD) of Indramayu Regency, the Special Staff of the Minister of Social Affairs for Empowerment and Handling of the Poor, Ishaq Zubaedi Raqib, emphasized the importance of cross-sectoral cooperation. This collaboration is considered crucial to accelerate the completion of the development of the Prosperous Fishermen's Village, especially in meeting basic needs such as clean water and electricity.
This project is targeted to be completed in January 2025 so that people affected by the tidal flood disaster on the coast of Indramayu can immediately benefit from it. This step is in accordance with the direction of the Minister of Social Affairs Saifullah Yusuf who pays great attention to the recovery of residents after the disaster.
For years, the residents of Eretan Kulon Village have endured difficult conditions due to regular tidal flooding. Budget constraints previously hampered the Indramayu Regency Government's relocation efforts. However, with the support of the Ministry of Social Affairs, the development of the Prosperous Fishermen's Village is now a real solution to improving their lives.
