MoSA Establishes Collaboration to Strengthen the 2025-2029 Strategic Plan

BANDUNG (August 26^th, 2024) – Ministry of Social Affairs (MoSA) involved Ministry of National Development Planning/ Development Planning Board of Republic of Indonesia and Veteran National Development University (UPN) in Jawa Timur in the preparation for the 2025-2029  MoSA Strategic Plan (Renstra). The discussion of the initial draft of the Strategic Plan held in Bandung on August 26^th – 27^th was a continuation of previous discussions to refine the draft.

"This event is the third stage after previous discussions that were also attended by directors, center heads, and planners from each work unit," said the Acting Head of MoSA Planning Bureau Budi Satriyo on Monday (08/26/2024).

In drafting the strategic plan, MoSA referred to the National Long-Term Development Plan document, National Mid-Term Development Plan, as well as the Asta Cita, which was the program of the elected president. The drafted strategic plan accommodated several aspects, including burden reduction programs in the form of basic assistance, counselling programs, empowerment enhancement programs through entrepreneurship, capacity-building programs for social welfare organizers, and management support services.

In this discussion, the Planning Bureau also involved MoSA academics, namely lecturers and trainers. Budi stated that this was an effort to strengthen MoSA. "We want all MoSA components, including technical units, centers, as well as lecturers and trainers, to work together to strengthen Ministry of Social Affairs," he said.

In the two-day discussion, input was received from the participants regarding matters not yet included in the Strategic Plan (Renstra). A list has been compiled to complement the strategic plan to cover aspects related to the implementation of social welfare in Indonesia.

Head of the Social Economic Study Center at UPN Veteran Jatim, Ignatia Martha Hendrati, appreciated MoSA effort by involving other institutions with insights into development planning, such as the Ministry of National Development Planning/ Development Planning Board and UPN Veteran, to strengthen MoSA Strategic Plan. "I commend MoSA for involving us from UPN and Development Planning Board in drafting the document." It can be seen that the Ministry of Social Affairs is very serious in preparing its plans," said Martha.
