KARAWANG (July 22, 2021) - The Ministry of Social Affairs through the Bekasi "Budhi Dharma" Center provides Social Rehabilitation Assistance (ATENSI) program for the elderly on behalf of Grandmother Aton Usih (79 years old) which was viral on the online portal media Kompas.com ( 19/07/2021).

Viral news entitled "Selling Bran to Survive, This Grandmother Expects Social Assistance from the Government", Grandma Aton is reported to have received BST worth Rp 600 thousand from the government. This assistance was used to buy rice and trading capital for bran and groats. In addition, it is also used to buy clothes and food.

Based on the news, on Tuesday (20/07/2021), the Bekasi “Budhi Dharma” Center conducted an assessment of Aton Usih's house which is located at Wanasepi Hamlet Rt. 004/ 010 Tunggakjati District, West Karawang Regency, West Java Province.

"Please distribute aid to Grandma Aton and do not delay it, so that it can be used immediately," said the Head of Balai Pujiyanto to the team.

ATENSI assistance is spent together and handed over directly to Mak Aton Usih in the form of a nutrition package, personal care and hygiene packages, health needs, room facilities, and additional strengthening of business capital.

Aton Usih's grandmother who lived alone in a 100-meter cubicle house with no children and husband had died decades ago, leaving her feeling lonely and living as she could.

To survive, Aton Usih's grandmother did not want to hang on to mercy by begging from others, but even with her aging body, she persisted in selling bran and groats to feed the ducks and chickens that she sold by carrying on her head. The effort did not make him weak of heart and instead increased his gratitude to God.

''Is God really going to let me suffer, I'm sure God will give me sustenance. Then, the Ministry of Social Affairs comes to help, thank you very much to the Minister for taking care of me. Thank you also to the Head of the Elderly Center who has been invited me to go shopping, going around, I am very happy that I haven't taken a car for a long time, usually when shopping, I walk home and sell while shopping for salted eggs the next day on foot again," said Mak Aton happily mixed with emotion.

''Thank God, I have been helped a lot, there is milk, honey, vitamins, biscuits, masks, for washing hands, bathing, and washing needs, I have spent so much bran and groats. Not to mention that there are mattresses, sheets, blankets, bed covers, and much more in the house, even a cupboard for me to put clothes on, I also chose myself, so I was touched and I can only pray that the officers from the Ministry of Social Affairs are always healthy and all made easy by Allah," said Mak Aton so touched.
