Ministry of Social Affairs Presents to Provide Social Assistance for Residents Affected by Landslide Disaster in Ciambar, Sukabumi
SUKABUMI (2 May 2021) - The Ministry of Social
Affairs through the Disability Center "Phala Martha" in Sukabumi sent
an Emergency Response Team to provide Social Logistics Assistance for residents
affected by landslides in Awi Lega Village, Ginanjar Village, Ciambar District,
Sukabumi Regency.
As directed by the
Minister of Social Affairs, Tri Rismaharini, that the Ministry of Social
Affairs would respond to any emergency conditions, the "Phala Martha"
team led by the Coordinator of the Social Assessment and Advocacy Section, Umar
Khaerudin, together with social workers and social extension agents went to
directly see the disaster location and provide social assistance to residents
affected by landslides. The aid was handed over at the sub-district post and
received by the Head of Ginanjar Village.
"We represent the
Disability Center “Phala Martha” to express our sorrow for the landslide that
befell the residents of Ciambar," said Umar. "On this occasion, we
assist in the form of rice, instant noodles, toiletries, milk, and
medicine for the affected residents," he added.
The Head of Ginanjar
Village, Iwan Ridwan, expressed his gratitude to the Ministry of Social Affairs
through the Disability Center “Phala Martha” who was present to visit Ciambar
residents who were affected by landslides. "The assistance that has been
given, we will convey to the residents who are the victims of landslides,"
said Iwan.
"Landslides that
occurred in Kami Village on Saturday afternoon (1/5/2021), killed a 5- year-old
child named Abdul Kholik died, Mrs. Atik (35 years) was seriously injured and
Maman (40 years) was slightly injured,” said Iwan.
"A landslide from a
30-meter long cliff with a height of 100 meters in the rice field area caused
the house in the felling to be damaged. Landslide material damaged 3 houses
consisting of 2 heavily damaged houses and 1 lightly damaged house. Apart from
that, motorbikes, rice fields, and 120 cattle ducks were also buried under the
landslide material,” he concluded.
The Disability Center “Phala Martha” team had the opportunity to directly see the landslide location accompanied by the Chairman of RW 08 and Jaelani, a member of the Tagana Social Service of Sukabumi Regency. At the location, the team could not meet directly with the victim, because he was still undergoing treatment at RSUD R. Syamsudin, SH, Sukabumi City.
