MoSA Provides Reinforcement to the LKS of Rumah Pulih Jiwa Cianjur

CIANJUR (9 June 2021) - The Ministry of Social Affairs through Phala Martha Sukabumi Center was present to provide reinforcement to the Social Welfare Institution of Rumah Pulih Jiwa Foundation (LKS YRPJ) Cianjur which is located at Kampung Pasir Gudang RT 01 RW 07 Cibiuk Village, Ciranjang District, Cianjur Regency.

The activity which took the theme of Advocacy for Community-Based Mental Health Services was initiated by the Mental Hospital dr. H. Marzoeki Mahdi (RSJMM) Bogor was attended by various related agencies in the Cianjur Regency area.

Present on this occasion the Bogor RSJMM Team led by Health Counselor Iyep Yudiana, Phala Martha Sukabumi Team led by Middle Social Worker, Kusman. In addition, there were also the Camat of Ciranjang Sub-district, Representatives from Cibiuk Village, Cianjur District Social Service, Cianjur District Health Service, Cianjur District Disdukcapil Representative, Ciranjang District Health Center, Mrs. Ani Sumarni as an observer of People with Mental Disabilities (ODGJ) which is currently viral on social media, elements of TKSK and PSM in the Ciranjang District area and the YRPJ Management.

LKS as the Center’s partners from the Cianjur Humanitarian Conscience Foundation and Marselia Fondation Tangerang were also present for this activity and the Cianjur Haurwangi Millennial Care House which empowered ODGJ in the Cianjur Regency area post-medical.

The chairman of YRPJ Cianjur Rukman Samsudin gave his remarks by presenting the LKS profile. There are 31 PDMs being served in LKS from Cianjur, West Bandung, Purwakarta, Tasikmalaya and Central Java areas. Rukman hopes that this activity will result in decisions to address the problems and needs of ODGJ at the technical level in the field.

"Hopefully the handling of ODGJ, especially ODGJ’s stocks, which really requires mutual attention, can be carried out well, with each policymaker in the region being able to carry out their respective functions and commitments," added Rukman.

On that occasion Kusman, representing Phala Martha Sukabumi gave reinforcement to LKS YRPJ Cianjur as the Center's work partner related to the pattern of handling ODGJ in Social Institutions. At the same time introducing the ATENSI service program implemented by Social Rehabilitation Centers in 2021.

"Phala Martha in handling ODGJ has a role in providing post-medical social rehabilitation services through a family, community and residential-based approach," said Kusman.

Kusman also gave his appreciation to those who were present who had extraordinary commitment and concern in handling ODGJ.

"Synergy in handling ODGJ from all relevant agencies present today is necessary to overcome ODGJ problems in the field," he added.

In turn, representatives from Ciranjang District, Health Office, Social Service, and Ciranjang Health Center delivered their remarks.

RSJMM Bogor, which was represented by I Ketut Sudiatmika as the Head of the PKRS and Keswamas Installation delivered a presentation on advocacy for mental health services. He emphasized the importance of developing and implementing community-based mental health advocacy services that were intensively carried out by RSJMM Bogor.

The event was continued by holding a discussion led by the Bogor RSJMM Team Iyep Yudiana by providing opportunities for all participants present to convey their problems according to their respective fields of duty to find solutions for handling them.

The event ended with a group photo while still observing health protocols.
