BANDUNG (October 18th, 2019) – “Mulya Jaya” Social Rehabilitation Center for Prostitute Woman (BRS Watunas) Jakarta is committed to carrying out social rehabilitation of Victims of Human Trafficking and Violence. This is proven by the Case Conference activities conducted with West Java Provincial Social Service Agency and the Parents of the Social Welfare Services Recipient (PPKS) who experienced cases of Human trafficking in Situbondo, East Java.

The CC meeting was led by the Head of "Mulya Jaya" BRS Watunas Jakarta Juena Sitepu. "This meeting is important to prepare a follow-up plan or After Care for 12 PPKS after they have finished undergoing advanced social rehabilitation at  "Mulya Jaya" BRS Watunas, because family is the best place for these children," Juena said in front of the parents PPKS.

Previously, 12 women from Bandung were victims of human trafficking and sexual violence, 11 were minors who were entrusted at Social Rehabilitation Center for Woman Kediri which is a Technical Implementation Unit (UPT) from the Kediri Social Service Agency. Then they were recommended to get advanced social rehabilitation at "Mulya Jaya" BRS Watunas Jakarta.

In this Case Conference (CC) activity, not only the West Java Provincial Social Service was present, the Head of the Social Rehabilitation Services Section, Social Worker of "Mulya Jaya" BRS Watunas Jakarta, Bandung Public Health Office, Bandung Social Service Agency, West Java Women's Empowerment and Children Protection Office, West Java Regional Police, West Java Social Welfare Institution, West Java Social Service Work Unit and PPKS parents / family representatives were also present.

As a form of Implementation of the New Platform 5 Social Rehabilitation Program (Progres 5.0 NP), "Mulya Jaya" BRS Watunas Jakarta conducted several therapies to these 12 PPKS. One of them is psychosocial therapy, which aims to improve social functions. When they first became PPKS at BRS Watunas "Mulya Jaya" Jakarta, they had an attitude and behavior that was not commendable. For example saying rude, cursing each other, absent from some therapeutic activities and not keeping the clean state of rehabilitation center.

However, the attitudes and behavior of 12 PPKS changed after two weeks of getting social rehabilitation at "Mulya Jaya" BRS Watunas Jakarta. They are able to develop positively and willing to participate in any activity held by the rehabilitation center. Changes in attitudes and lifestyles that have started to improve need to be enhanced by providing therapies and assistance for the future.

PPKS parents who attended the CC activity were concerned about the problems faced by their children and thanked the "Mulya Jaya" BRS Watunas Jakarta. They were very happy to see changes in the attitudes and positive behavior of their children after receiving social rehabilitation at "Mulya Jaya" BRS Watunas. The handling of 12 PPKS cases was handled by the Situbondo Regional Police and West Java Regional Police who are ready to provide assistance and escort at the trial.

"We will accompany these children when they are in court," said West Sumatra Regional Police Headquarters PPA Euis Yuningsih.

Meanwhile, Adun Abdulah as the Head of Social Rehabilitation at West Java Social Service Agency stated that the problems experienced by PPKS children were a shared responsibility,

"These children must get further Social Rehabilitation until finish at "Mulya Jaya" Rehabilitation center Watunas Jakarta, so that they are truly transformed and ready to return to their parents or family. I will ensure that before these children return to their families," said Adun.
