NORTH HALMAHERA,(January 20, 2021) - The "Naibonat" Children as the Technical Implementation Unit (UPT) belonging to the Ministry of Social Affairs took quick steps in responding to cases of child victims of natural disasters. On January 16, 2021, floods and landslides occurred in 11 villages in North Halmahera Regency, North Maluku province. There were material losses, including 1 large bridge breaking, 3 houses carried away by floods and 2 heavily damaged houses. Roko Village, West Galelo Sub-district is one of the hardest-hit villages with 330 families and 1166 people affected.
Head of the "Naibonat" Children's Center in Kupang, Supriyono said that as a manifestation of the UPT of the Ministry of Social Affairs which is always required to be responsive to social problems in the community, the "Naibonat" Children's Center in Kupang provides emergency services for children in natural disaster situations within the ATENSI framework. The tangible form of this service is in the form of support and motivation to reduce and or eliminate the trauma experienced by children and provide emergency assistance needed after the flood disaster in North Halmahera.
The flood disaster that occurred was immediately responded to by the Ministry of Social Affairs who was immediately visited by the Minister of Social Affairs, Mrs. Tri Rismaharani. As a follow-up to the handling of this flood disaster, the UPT offices of the Ministry of Social Affairs, one of which is the "Naibonat" Children's Center in Kupang, immediately responded to contribute to post-flood handling through ATENSI.
The ATENSI service activity was carried out in Roko Village, West Galilo District. Implementation of activities in coordination with the Provincial Social Service, Social Worker Serve Unit (Sakti Peksos), District Social Service and LKSA. The Head of the Social Rehabilitation Division of the Provincial Social Service, the Head of the Social Service of North Halmahera Regency and the leaders of 2 LKSAs participated and jointly carried out the Center activities.
The service activities carried out by Balai Anak Naibonat are providing support and motivation as part of the trauma healing carried out by Tagana members. Furthermore, Balai also handed over 40 packages of emergency assistance for children in the form of Regal Marie Biscuit 550 gr (canned), school supplies, wet and dry wipes, ready-to-eat food (Pop Mie), telon oil, milk, shampoo, liquid soap, toothbrush, toothpaste, and baby diapers.
In the context of accountability, all types of goods and their specifications are submitted and checked by the District Social Service and Posko officers. Furthermore, it is stated in the Minutes of Handover to the beneficiaries. Delivery of goods directly to beneficiaries and witnessed by the Social Service, families and postal officers. The completion of the Handover Minutes (BAST) is immediately carried out during the ATENSI activity.
