Open Selection of Candidates for Commissioner Members of the National Disability Commission

BANDUNG (December 21, 2020) - The National Commission for Disabilities (KND) as an independent non-structural institution is now starting to be formed. The open selection of KND commissioners was officially announced through a Press Conference held by the Ministry of Social Affairs as the focal point.
The formation of the KND is based on Law Number 8 of 2016 concerning Persons with Disabilities and Presidential Regulation Number 68 of 2020. The KND was formed in the context of respecting, protecting and fulfilling the rights of persons with disabilities,
KND has the task of carrying out monitoring, evaluation, advocacy for the implementation of Respect, Protection and Fulfillment of the Rights of Persons with Disabilities. KND is a form of national implementation and monitoring of the Convention of The Right of Persons With Disabilities (CRPD).
The chairman of the KND Commissioner Open Selection Committee, Harry Hikmat, revealed that the selection committee for the 2021-2026 KND Commissioner Candidate selection committee invited the best Indonesian sons and daughters from people with disabilities and non-disabled people, from practitioners, academics, professionals, and the public.
Based on article 7 and article 13 of Presidential Regulation No. 68 of 2020, 7 members of the KND Commissioner will be selected, consisting of 4 members representing various disabilities and 3 members from non-disability.
Criteria for Candidate Members of the KND Commissioner are:
1. Indonesian citizen;
2. Pious to the Almighty God;
3. Minimum age of 35 (thirty five) years;
4. Have experience in the field of respecting, protecting, and fulfilling the rights of persons with disabilities, for a minimum of 5 (five) years;
5. Authoritative, honest, fair, and have integrity and a personality that is not reprehensible;
6. Free of abuse of narcotics, alcohol, psychotropic substances, and other addictive substances;
7. Never been sentenced to a crime based on a court decision that has permanent legal force and is not a suspect in a criminal case;
8. Willing to work full time;
9. Not currently a member or as an administrator of a political party;
10. Willing not to hold concurrent positions as State Officials or State Administrators in accordance with the provisions of laws and regulations, administrators or employees of State-Owned Enterprises or Regional-Owned Enterprises, administrators and/or members of Political Parties, and other professions (example: Advocates, Doctors , Accountant, Notary);
11. Candidates with the status of Civil Servants, are willing to be temporarily dismissed from their organic positions as Civil Servants if accepted as Commissioner of the National Commission for Disabilities; and
12. Active and has a network in government, community organizations, non-governmental organizations, Social Welfare Institutions, media and universities.

1. The announcement will be broadcast through the https://seleksiknd.kemensos.go.id website, print media, online media and mass media starting on December 21, 2020;
2. Registration is done online by filling out the initial registration form and downloading the softcopy of administrative documents starting on January 20, 2021, 09.00 WIB until. 3 February 2021, 16.00 WIB;
3. Completeness of administrative files that need to be uploaded can be seen on the site.
This selection is not subject to fees or charges of any kind. Administrative selection will be done online. Then the interview selection will be carried out offline to determine the 14 best candidates who will be proposed to the president to be appointed as many as 7 members of the KND Commissioner for the 2021-2026 Period.
Harry also introduced the members of the open selection committee of the KND Commissioner, namely Harkristuti Harkrisnowo, who is known as an academician, Angkie Yudistia from a professional and a person with a hearing and speech disability, Sinta Nuriyah Wahid as a community leader and a person with a physical disability, and Siswadi, a practitioner and person with a physical disability.
