Orphans Victims of the Kanjuruhan Tragedy, You Can't Drop Out of School
Grandpa Rachman works as a scavenger. He lost his son, Andi Setiawan after being treated for more than two weeks at the Al-Anwar Hospital (RSSA) Malang after the Kanjuruhan tragedy. Andi received intensive care because he was critical and in a coma. He left behind two elementary school-aged (SD) children, who now live and are being cared for by Grandpa Rachman with his wife in a hut on the banks of the Berantas River.
As soon as she learned of the grandfather's wish with the two grandchildren, the Minister of Social Affairs immediately agreed. In fact, she asked her staff to immediately enter the data of Grandpa Rachman's two grandchildren in the Integrated Social Welfare Data (DTKS) so that they are registered in the Social Rehabilitation Assistance program (ATENSI) for the category of assistance to Orphans (YAPI).
"Go input his name in the DTKS so that the assistance can be immediately distributed by the end of December," Risma asked her staff.
Not only that, Social Affairs Minister Risma also plans to provide housing assistance to Grandpa Rachman after hearing complaints about his narrow house on the banks of the Berantas River in Mergosono Village, Kedungkandang District, Malang Regency.
Social Affairs Minister Risma's visit to Malang Regency is her third visit in a month, after the previous successive Minister of Social Affairs has also met and handed over compensation directly to each victim and their families.
