DENPASAR (November 3, 2020) - The Indonesian Ministry of Social Affairs' Outreach Team (TRC) through "Mahatmiya Social Rehabilitation Center for Persons with Visual Disabilities in Bali went to the field to respond to a video that had gone viral some time ago. With a duration of 39 seconds, the video shows a woman feeding him cake for two people with severe disabilities. One young man was lying on the floor, while the other young man was on a wooden bed.
Responding to this information, the Head of "Mahatmiya" Center in Bali, Sutiono gave directions and tasks to the Head of the Social Advocacy Assessment Section (AAS), Mohammad Saibudin and Madya Social Worker, Ni Putu Esti to immediately conduct a search according to Standard Operating Procedures (SOP).
Based on the results of coordination with the Head of Social Rehabilitation Sector for Bali Province Social Office, Dayu Anggreni, Head of Disability Section of the Denpasar City Social Office, Coordinator of Assistance for Persons with Disabilities in Denpasar City and TKSPD of Denpasar City, information was obtained that Nyoman Sadra's family had changed their residential address from what was previously facilitated by the Bali Province Social Office in Wana Seraya PSTW Building, to a new location, namely Banjar Jurang Asri, Peguyangan Kangin Village, North Denpasar District, Denpasar City. However, the transfer was not reported to the Bali Province Social Office, Denpasar City Social Office, PPD or TKSPD.
"No information has reached Social Office regarding their move, so we are having a hard time tracing them," said Dayu.
Additional information in the form of a viral video is a family, consisting of a husband and wife and two men with severe disabilities and one woman suffering from wilting paralysis. After receiving the information, "Mahatmiya" Center team immediately checked the veracity of the video information. Based on the search results, it is known that the woman in the video is the mother of two people with severe disabilities.
According to Ni Nengah Sumerti (48), the video was made on the basis of wanting to show the donors who gave the cake that the cake has been eaten by her children. After the video was recorded, Sumerti then sent the video to benefactors through one of the conversation platforms. According to Sumerti, she did not know if the video had gone viral until the team clarified. She only intends to send the video as evidence to benefactor without any ulterior motives.
"I only send this video to the benefactor who gave the cake. The cake was delivered by an online motorcycle taxi, I fed my children and it was recorded by my grandson. After that I sent the video to the benefactor as proof that the cake had been eaten," said Sumerti.

Nyoman Sadra (55), the father of the three persons with disabilities was not present because he was working at the Bali Provincial Government Office as a contract worker. This was a form of concern from the Governor of Bali (Mangku Made Pastika) at that time. To fulfill their daily needs, they rely on income from their husbands. However, a number of benefactors are helping to lighten their needs.
The three disabled children from Nyoman Sadra and Ni Nengah Sumerti get recreational activities every Monday and Thursday during their stay in the Wana Seraya PSTW building, but since the last 2 months, they have not received recreation because access to a new residence is difficult to reach by wheelchair.
"As a follow-up, we will recommend to Bali Province Social Office to provide a house renovation so that the family has a proper place to live in the area of origin," concluded Esti.
"Mahatmiya" Center in Bali provided assistance to fulfill nutrition in the form of rice, milk, biscuits, cooking oil, other supporting foods, and cleaning clothes. Furthermore, periodic monitoring of persons with disabilities will be carried out. "Mahatmiya" Center in Bali has also coordinated with Social Worker Serve Unit (Sakti Peksos) and the local Social Office to jointly provide protection and assistance for the three persons with disabilities.
