"Pangurangi" Center Conducts Phase 2 Assessment for PLHIV Community-Based ATENSI Program
MAKASSAR (8 May 2021) - The "Pangurangi" Takalar Center
carried out a phase 2 assessment of People Living with Human Immunodeficiency
Virus (PLHIV) in Makassar City, Gowa Regency, and Takalar Regency.
The head of the "Pangurangi"
Pengalamen Surbakti, revealed that this activity was a continuation of the
assessment activities some time ago. He continued, Surbakti said that the
beneficiaries who were assessed were 100 PLHIV. "The results of the
assessment will be used as a basis for providing the right type of intervention
for them," said Surbakti.
This assessment is part
of the Community-Based ATENSI program organized by the Ministry of Social
Affairs for People Living with HIV, assisted by the Peer Support Group Care
Foundation (YPKDS), of the target of 300 PLHIV to be assessed currently has
assessed 167 PLHIV assisted by YPKDS.
This activity involves
Social Workers and Social Counselors of "Pangurangi" Center as well
as peer support groups (KDS) in Makassar City, one of the local Social
Counselors, Qadriansyah said that in gathering information, officers used a
comprehensive assessment to determine the objective conditions of the
beneficiaries so that they could find out what the beneficiaries needed.
One of the beneficiaries,
Sardi conveyed that his HIV status did not make him discouraged, his aspiration
to teach mathematics always motivated him, from the results of Sardi's
assessment, the officer found that besides working as an honorary teacher, he
also opened private mathematics lessons for students.
