Prepare Disnet Band at the 2022 Asia Pacific Cultural Arts Festival, Ministry of Social Affairs Cooperates with Bertha

JAKARTA (June 13, 2021) - The Ministry of Social Affairs involved professional singer and vocal coach Etta Herawati, who is familiarly called Bertha, in developing the musical arts skills of people with visual sensory disabilities who are members of Disnet Band Tan Miyat Bekasi Center. The band is being prepared to perform at the 2021 International Day of Disability concerts and the 2022 Asia Pacific Cultural Arts Festival.

Bertha, who is known to have high social awareness feels very interested and committed to training friends with disabilities, especially Disnet Band, so that they can become professional musicians so that they can appear in national and international events. He conveyed this during a meeting with the Ministry of Social Affairs team led by the Director General of Social Rehabilitation Harry Hikmat, at Kopi Genta, Jakarta.

The Director General of Social Rehabilitation really appreciates Bertha and her team's concern for friends with disabilities.

"I hope that the collaboration between the Ministry of Social Affairs and Ms. Bertha can improve the musical abilities of people with disabilities, especially Disnet Band of Tan Miyat Center, so that they can become professional music players," said Harry. He also hopes that Disnet Band can inspire other bands.

Bertha and the team will provide vocal and musical instrument training to improve skills and techniques in playing music and provide an understanding of musical attitude. In addition, Bertha will also share her professional experience in the music world and invite professional musicians from people with disabilities to share their experiences.

After receiving training, it is hoped that Disnet Band can perform optimally at the Concert event on the commemoration of the 2021 International Disability Day and the 2022 Asia Pacific Cultural Arts Festival.
