BEKASI (July 23, 2021) - The continuous
increase of Covid-19 cases has had a significant impact on all levels of
society. Starting from small residents who have difficulty surviving to health
workers who are also starting to be overwhelmed in providing health services.
Faced with this condition, the Government
imposed a policy of Enforcement of Public Activity Restrictions (PPKM) for the
Java and Bali regions on July 3-20. Seeing the Covid-19 transmission rate that
has not yet fallen, the Bekasi Regency Government has now issued a Level 4 PPKM
Circular Letter. It was signed by the Acting Head of Bekasi Regent, Herman Hanafi,
and will take effect from 21-25 July 2021.
To provide support for handling communities
affected and exposed to Covid-19 during the PPKM period, three Social
Rehabilitation Centers in Bekasi, namely the "Budhi Dharma" Elderly
Center, "Tan Miyat" Sensory Disability Center and "Pangudi Luhur"
Training Center opened a Public Kitchen.
This was carried out following the
direction of the Minister of Social Affairs Tri Rismaharini, who instructed the
Ministry of Social Affairs to establish a public kitchen as an emergency
response service for the Covid-19 pandemic in Bekasi.
The public kitchen will provide boxed rice
which is planned to be held for 6 days starting on July 23 - 28 on Jl. HM.
Djojo Martono Number 19 Margahayu, East Bekasi, Bekasi City. This public
kitchen will provide 3300 packages of boxed rice per day for 6 days with a menu
containing rice, meat, boiled eggs, vegetables, citrus fruits/bananas, and
mineral water in each package.
Distribution of the boxed rice packages will
target health workers, funeral workers, self-isolating communities, and
beneficiaries at Social Welfare Institutions (LKS) in Bekasi City and Regency.
"We will distribute a total of 3300
packets of rice boxes per day for 6 days to health workers, funeral workers,
self-isolating communities, and LKS in the City and Regency of Bekasi,"
said Pujiyanto, Head of the Bekasi "Budhi Dharma" Center.
