PURWAKARTA (15 September 2020) - Ministry of Social Affairs always tries to give its best to strengthen the economy during the COVID-19 pandemic. One of them is through the Rice Social Assistance Program (BSB) for KPM PKH.

In the framework of implementing the BSB program, Director General of Social Empowerment Edi Suharto checked BULOG Ciwangi warehouse in Purwakarta Regency. Stock availability and 15 kg packaging readiness are very important so that the distribution process can run quickly and precisely.

"We want to ensure the rice stock in here and also the packaging for 15 kg which will be given later to KPM," said Edi Suharto.

BULOG Ciwangi warehouse provides rice stocks for 30,414 PKH KPM in Purwakarta Regency area. This warehouse can accommodate 3,500 tons of rice. Until now, the BULOG Ciwangi warehouse has distributed 47 tons of BSB. This amount is allocated for 2 sub-districts, namely Bungursari District 633 KPM and Babakan Cikao District 949 KPM.

In Bungursari District, there are 10 points for distribution to KPM. After visiting BULOG Ciwangi warehouse, Edi Suharto and his entourage headed to one of the distribution points in Bungursari District. In the first stage, as many as 46 KPM PKH received BSB at that point. Each KPM received 30kg BSB (2 sacks of rice @ 15kg) for August and September period.

Bungursari Subdistrict is the first sub-district to get BSB in Purwakarta Regency area. Meanwhile, the distribution for other sub-districts will also be done this week.

It does not stop there, BSB will be distributed again in October to 10 million PKH KPMs affected by COVID-19. This effort is a form of economic resilience by meeting the basic needs of the community.

Also attending the event were Secretary of the Directorate General of Social Empowerment, Head of the Program and Reporting Section of Secretariat Directorate General of Social Empowerment, Deputy Head of the Ciwangi BULOG Warehouse, Head of Warehouse Operations for BULOG Ciwangi, PKH Purwakarta Regency Coordinator, and PKH Regional Coordinator.
