Realizing the ATENSI Program, "Rumbai" Children's Center Provides Direct Services in Dumai
DUMAI (April 2, 2021) - The "Rumbai" Children's Center in Pekanbaru as the Technical Implementation Unit (UPT) of the Indonesian Ministry of Social Affairs carried out a community and family-based Social Rehabilitation Assistance (ATENSI) Program in Dumai City, Riau Province.
In accordance with the direction of the Minister of Social Affairs Tri Rismaharini, that the Centers within the Directorate General of Social Rehabilitation must complete the service in providing services. Based on this, the "Rumbai" Children's Center Pekanbaru provides ATENSI program services in the form of 64 nutritional support packages for 33 children with disabilities, 22 children against the law (ABH), 7 children in need of special protection (AMPK), and 2 children with HIV/AIDS. (ADHIV).
This nutrition distribution was carried out at the Dumai City Social Office and was attended by the Head of the Social Office, the Head of Social Rehabilitation, and social workers. Then these activities are also carried out directly at the Beneficiary's house through a home visit. In addition to providing nutrition, the team of "Rumbai" Center also provides reinforcement to families of children who have various social problems which is the core of the purpose of this activity.
The Head of the "Rumbai" Children's Center, represented by the Social Worker, Surita, explained the form of Child ATENSI activities, "Not only support for fulfilling a decent life in the form of nutritional stimulants, but the center also helps with, for example, access and the need for school equipment, access to medical treatment, health checks, support for entrepreneurship, and so on". It is hoped that with community development that involves parents and children, they can identify the problems and needs of each child.
The Head of the Dumai City Social Office, Hasan Basri, welcomed the Child ATENSI program carried out by the "Rumbai" Children Center Pekanbaru, "We are very grateful for the existence of this attention program and hope that in the future activities like this can continue, if possible, assistance is not only in the form of nutrition but also baby needs such as diapers, wheelchairs, mattresses or mats, school supplies and hearing aids," he said.
The families and beneficiaries are very enthusiastic about this ATENSI Program. "We thank the Ministry of Social Affairs for the nutritional assistance, it is very useful for our children to have good nutrition." said the family who were very grateful because this was the first time someone had recorded and provided assistance. The family hopes that the assistance from the Child ATENSI program can continue.
