JAKARTA (30 June 2021) – The Covid-19 pandemic has disrupted the economy, especially for low-income people who are unable to provide the protein intake that body needs to fight the virus attack.

Therefore, Social Minister Tri Rismaharini directly instructed the ranks of the Ministry of Social Affairs to provide additional nutritional intake in the form of eggs and ready-to-eat food for marginalized people.

Eggs and ready-to-eat food are distributed through the Social Welfare Institution (LKS) and distributed to the People Needing Social Welfare Services (PPKS), such as marginalized residents, scavengers, homeless people and beggars.

One of the LKS distributing the aid was Bhakti Nurul Iman, who had received hundreds of eggs for the past three days and in the last two days added ready-to-eat food to distribute.

"We are very grateful for the eggs and ready-to-eat food that are sent every day," said Yaya Wahyudin, Head of LKS Bhakti Nurul Iman on Jalan Manggarai Utara ll No 17 RT 009 RW 01 Kel Manggarai, Tebet, South Jakarta, Tuesday (29/6). /2021) afternoon.

"As many as 85 packs of ready-to-eat food are sent every day, so in two days a total of 170 packs containing rice, eggs, tempeh, vegetables, mineral water and 2 adult-size masks. In 3 days 836 eggs were sent and distributed to 419 people," he added.

A resident, Ais Muhammad, 34 years old, admitted that he was very happy to get a ready-to-eat food package and eggs because the community really needed it.

“I am happy to receive aid from the government through LKS Bhakti Nurul Iman. Thank you, Mrs. Risma," he said.

Ais admitted that he was unemployed and worked odd jobs, so that apart from food he also need a job so that he could live independently and be able to fulfill his needs.

"Many of the youths here and I are unemployed, so we need work to make ends meet," he said.
