JAKARTA (September 8, 2020) - The Ministry of Social Affairs through the Center for the Social Rehabilitation of Children Requiring Special Protection (BRSAMPK) "Handayani" in Jakarta (06/09/2020), again received a complaint report on the case of Children Requiring Special Protection (AMPK). This time the information came from the Directorate of Child Social Rehabilitation of the Ministry of Social Affairs regarding a girl with the initials "V" who was 9 years 11 months old, orphaned and had a skin disease in the South Jakarta area.

Based on this, the Head of the "Handayani" Children's Center, Neneng Heryani gave directions and tasks to social workers to carry out assessments directly to "V".

"It is ensured that the child's rights are fulfilled as well as coordinating with local community leaders to jointly monitor the child," said Neneng.

Social workers immediately went to the Tebet area, South Jakarta to immediately respond to the case. Upon arrival, the social worker immediately coordinated with the Secretary of the Neighborhood Association (RT), Tuti. She welcomed and responded well to the arrival of the "Handayani"Children’s  Center social worker. Tuti was happy to help and accompany the social worker to "V"'s house.

After the assessment, it is known that “V” is the eldest of two siblings. “V” was originally a normal and healthy child, but when “V” was 3 years old, he experienced complaints of itching so that there were many wounds all over his body.

"V"’s family has taken treatment to Cipto Mangunkusumo Hospital (RSCM) every week, but his condition has not improved until now. The family could not do much because of economic conditions that did not allow it. The weight of "V" is not in accordance with the condition of normal children in general, which continues to shrink to only 18 kilograms.

"V" lives with his grandmother. Meanwhile, his grandmother does not work due to age. Every day "V" and his grandmother only rely on the mercy of their closest relatives to fulfill their child's nutrition.

After knowing some of "V"'s needs, then "V" was given nutritional assistance in the form of milk, vitamins, biscuits and other supporting foods. This was done to help fulfill "V" nutrition. As a follow-up to the response to this case, The "Handayani" Children's Center will continue to coordinate with the RT where "V" lives. In addition, the "Handayani" Children's Center will also carry out periodic monitoring of the children.
