Renovation on Elih and Tarmudi's House in Tasikmalaya | Part 1
Still productive in their old age, Elih and Tarmudi, residents of Tasikmalaya Regency work as daily farm laborers in their village. However, they are still eligible to receive social assistance from the Family Hope Program (PKH) starting in 2019. This year, Elih and Tarmudi received assistance for the renovation of Uninhabitable Houses (RTLH) from the Ministry of Social Affairs. The house is made of half bamboo and boards which now have many holes, plus there is no electricity source.
Social Rehabilitation Assistance for Uninhabitable Houses (Rutilahu) is provided by the Ministry of Social Affairs by repairing or renovating part or all of the house, especially the roof, floors, walls, and toilets. The goal is to restore the social functioning of the recipient by improving housing conditions, increasing decent and higher quality housing, increasing comfort, and growing the value of mutual cooperation and social solidarity.
The renovation process was carried out in mutual cooperation with the participation of the surrounding community.
