"Rumbai" Children's Center Holds Family Support for Children with Disabilities in Siak
SIAK (April 10, 2021) - The Rumbai Children's Center in Pekanbaru as the Technical Implementation Unit (UPT) of the Indonesian Ministry of Social Affairs conducted home visits and Verification of Beneficiary Data as well as distribution of support for fulfilling a decent life for the ATENSI Program to 60 beneficiary children in Siak Regency, Riau Province. The recipients of the assistance included 36 children with disabilities, 7 children against the law (ABH), and 2 children with HIV/AIDS (ADHIV) in Siak Regency, which was held on Thursday (8/4) to. Saturday (10/4).
The provision of support for fulfilling a decent life in the form of nutritional stimulant packages was carried out door to door, while symbolically, the distribution of assistance was given to 35 children with disabilities. The activity took place in the LKS Fajar Amanah Hall, Perawang, Siak Regency.
Head of Social Rehabilitation Section for Children and Elderly Social Service Siak Regency, Rio, welcomed the ATENSI Program for children with disabilities conducted by the "Rumbai" Children's Center in Pekanbaru "This ATENSI activity is very helpful during the Covid-19 pandemic, it is very much needed for the nutritional needs of our children during this time."
In addition to providing nutritional stimulus, officers also provide family support. The Head of the "Rumbai" Children's Center in Pekanbaru, represented by the Head of Social Rehabilitation Services, Suyono hopes, "Hopefully this family support activity can provide reinforcement to families so that children can grow and develop in society and be independent. This activity does not stop here but will continue with other activities and services in accordance with the results of the assessment."
Meanwhile, the results of the rapid assessment regarding the need for the ATENSI component by officers, Abi Ortega revealed, "Most of the beneficiaries need access to and assistance with educational needs for schools. They also need access to health checks and degrees of disability."
The family is very grateful to the "Rumbai" Children's Center in Pekanbaru for this ATENSI Program, "Thank you, sir, this assistance is very helpful especially during this pandemic because the income for children's needs is reduced."
This ATENSI program will continue with other forms of activities such as supporting the accessibility needs of children with disabilities in the form of access to wheelchairs and hearing aids, and according to the needs of PMs, and children with HIV/AIDS for CD4 test accessibility and others.
Through family support activities, officers provide reinforcement to parents and motivate children and parents. Regarding the Child ATENSI component, if needed for psychological guidance for child victims, the "Rumbai" Children's Center is ready to help provide case assistance and support to families.
