BANYUMAS (November 1, 2020) - The Indonesian Ministry of Social Affairs through the Social Rehabilitation Center for Drug Abuse Victims (BRSKPN) "Satria" Baturraden provided assistance to victims affected by flooding in the Kemranjen District, Banyumas Regency.

Rain that has fallen in a number of areas in Banyumas Regency since Tuesday, October 27, 2020 has resulted in flooding at various points including three villages in Kemranjen District, namely Sirau Village, Sidamulya Village, and Grujugan Village. Until finally on Thursday, October 29, 2020 an emergency post was established in Sidamulya Village.

There are three evacuee camps that were established, namely Baitunnikmah Grumbul Paddymalang Mosque, Fathul Ulum Madrasah Building (MI) in Sirau Village, and MI Sidamulya in Sidamulya Village, Kemranjen District. The average evacuees are children and the elderly.

On this occasion, "Satria" Center Baturraden Team consisting of social workers and counselors provided psychosocial support in the form of assistance in the form of group dynamics aimed at children who were flood victims in age range of pre-school, kindergarten and elementary school.

Based on the assessment of the needs of evacuees, "Satria" Center Baturraden Team also provided assistance in the form of basic necessities, blankets, clothes, diapers, and educational game tools such as coloring sheets, story books, and colored pencils.

Head of "Satria" Center Baturraden, Restyaningsih said that this activity is a responsive form of the presence of the Indonesian Ministry of Social Affairs in the community.

"We work in the humanitarian field, so we try to be there when people need it, including when this flood disaster occurs," said Restyaningsih.

The Head of Sidamulya Village, Muslifah expressed his gratitude for the assistance provided so that it could help the needs of its residents.

The current condition of the flood has begun to recede at these three points. Some residents have left the evacuee camps and some are still surviving. However, assistance is still needed until conditions return to normal.
