Social Affairs Minister Ensures State Civil Apparatus Has the Spirit of Pancasila on the National Defense Education and Training

JAKARTA (December 9, 2019) – The Social Affairs Minister Juliari P. Batubara stated that the State Civil Apparatus in the MoSA required to apply the principle of Pancasila which reflected on the MoSA’s product, program, and policy. The State Civil Apparatus guided to follow the innovations and adapted to the environmental dynamics.

“Meanwhile, in the same moment, the State Civil Apparatus has to shows the Pancasila Value. The Value has to be reflected not only on the policy’s level, but also their behavior wherever they are now.” Said the Minister in the opening of National Defense Education and Training and Workshop on Nationality Insight on The Ministry of Social Affairs’ Environment, in Gedung Konveksi Komplek Taman Makam Pahlawan Nasional Utama, Jakarta, Monday (09/12/2019).

The former Head of Ikatan Motor Indonesia (IMI) stated that the challenges on the national life was very complex. One of them was the revolution of information and digitalization which has been moved across the ideological, political, economic, socio cultural, and national defense and security limitation.

One of the negative impacts from the technological development was proven to trigger the conflict which could disturb the nation’s diversity. “In turn, this will threaten on the national unity and integrity. Therefore, this activity ensures that the MoSA’s Apparatus keeps innovative but has the nationalism principle.” Said the man who was born in Jakarta on 22 July 1972.

Then, the symptom started to occur where the religion values were removed from the nation’s cultural root. “Nowadays every person wants everything in instant, impatient, pragmatic, materialistic, individualist, in the dangerous level of humanitarian crisis,” said the Minister.

The growing act of close primordialism, ethnical, regional and discrimination which had background of ethnical, religion, race and groups (SARA). On that opportunity, the Head of Pancasila Ideology Development Agency, Megawati Soekarnoputri was invited as the speaker.

In her speech, she pointed out on the importance of Pancasila ideology value’s internalization. Especially in the middle of the rose of national challenges including the challenges toward Pancasila.

In front of 900 Stated Civil Apparatus of the MoSA, the fifth President also pointed out on the importance of keeping Pancasila for the State Civil Apparatus. According to her, Pancasila was a nation’s ideology which was sourced from the Indonesian’s cultural value.

“Therefore, Bung Karno said that he was the groundman of Pancasila, not the inventor. Because the value is firmly rooted in the country. Now the inappropriate foreign ideology with Pancasila is thriving,” she said.

To the participant, Mega stated that it the State Civil Apparatus felt that they are the part of Indonesian people, they had to make Pancasila became the part of their identity and always on our heart. She reminded to every element of the public including the State Civil Apparatus of MoSA to not oscillated to foreign ideology.

Thus, they needed to understand about Pancasila, so that they did not get misunderstood on handling the challenges. Then Mega explained about what was the definition of national defense.
She stated, was the national defense mean about the bravery to suicide like the terrorist. “Is the national defense means to die bravely like the terrorist? I cannot figure out how a mother can do suicide with her children?” said her.

To the Ministry of Social Affairs’ apparatus, she reminded that Pancasila had proven and recognized by the world, as the ideology which was protecting the diversity and tolerance. “If you want to change Pancasila with the other ideology, please change to the other country. If you want to build a country, or if you want to build a caliphate country, please move,” she said.

Mega reminded that the concept of caliphate was ended since the modern Turkey was built on 1924. According to her, the concept of caliphate country was inappropriate with Indonesian character which was heterogeny and uphold on diversity.

One of the Pancasila’s implementation aspects was with the bravery to tell the truth. “For example, I’m saying that Bung Karno is not PKI. If he is part of it, then he will not become the proclamatory. I, as his daughter, am dare to defend, he is the hero. I am pretty sure,” she said.

Along with the event’s location, Mega also shouted to Indonesian people to not forgetting the heroes. “Do not forget their kindness. For the Minister, please keep the cemetery in a good condition. I still see many of the hero’s cemetery get abandoned,” she said.
