Social Minister Risma Visits Sumedang Landslide Victims
The Ministry of Social Affairs was not quick to help the landslide victims in the Cihanjuang Village area, Cimanggung District, Sumedang Regency, West Java Province.
In synergy with other elements of disaster management, the Ministry of Social Affairs through the Disaster Preparedness Youth (Tagana) moved together to evacuate landslide victims not long after the disaster occurred on Saturday (9/1). As is known, landslides occurred twice, namely at 16.00, and subsequent landslides occurred again around 19.30 WIB.
Social Minister Risma asked the local government to find a safe place for the residents who were victims of landslides, considering that the situation was still raining.
"Tonight, I asked the regent, the sub-district head and the village head to move the residents to a safe location because the rain continues to fall. I am very worried," said Social Minister Risma while greeting residents of landslide victims, as well as handing over logistical assistance near the Tagana Post. Bu Risma also expressed her deep condolences for the residents and officers who were victims of the landslide disaster which killed 15 people and injured dozens of others.
