Social Pillars Conduct Data Collection and Distribution to Recipient’s Homes
BEKASI (17th June 2020) - During the COVID-19 pandemic, the Ministry of Social Affairs continues to distribute social assistance to parties in need through various doors, such as the Cahaya Teratai Foundation.
The Ministry of Social Affairs through the Cahaya Teratai Foundation is trying to accelerate the distribution of social assistance as a step to reduce problems caused by COVID-19.
A total of 1000 packages of president basic food social assistance were symbolically given by the Head of the Sub-Director for the Implementation of Socio-Cultural, Economic and Environment Directorate of Remote Indigenous Community Empowerment, Directorate General of Social Empowerment - Sulistyaningsih.
The basic food social assistance was distributed to the blood donor community as many as 120 people, 380 packages for residents of Sumber Jaya Sub-district, Tambun Selatan District, and as many as 250 packages will be distributed to residents of Rawa Citra Village, Telaga Asih Sub-district, West Cikarang District.
In the distribution process, apart from involving the Ministry of Social Affairs it also involves social pillars, starting from the PSM to collect data, and youth organizations to distribute it to the recipient's house.
"Thank you, Mr. President and Minister of Social Affairs, this basic food assistance is very beneficial for the residents of Rawa Citra village, we will share it with other residents affected by COVID-19," said a member of the Youth Organization who is concurrently the Chairman of the Donor Community, Nalih Sumarno, SE.
This basic food assistance is intended for residents who experience economic hardship in the midst of the COVID-19 outbreak. Many people have lost their jobs or their income has decreased due to COVID-19. So that the basic food assistance is always strived to meet the right target recipients, such as in the area of Rawa Citra Village, daily traders, factory workers, and online motorcycle taxis.
