TASIKMALAYA (June 6, 2020) - After some time ago, the distribution of basic food social assistance activities was carried out in several cities and districts in Indonesia, now the Bekasi "Budhi Dharma" Social Rehabilitation Center for the Elderly is resuming a series of social assistance distribution activities for elderly people affected by COVID-19 in regencies and cities. As is known, the COVID-19 pandemic has a very wide impact on the world, especially Indonesia, which until Saturday, 6 June 2020, the number of positive cases in Indonesia has increased to 993 new cases, where Tasikmalaya Regency itself has had 5 confirmed positive cases and 26 positive cases in Tasikmalaya City (source: pikobar.jabarprov.go.id)
In this state of the COVID-19 pandemic, the elderly are one of the most vulnerable groups who have a high risk of being affected by this disease because the functions of organs and the body's immune system continue to decline with age, therefore the Elderly Hall "Budhi Dharma "Bekasi, which is one of the Technical Implementing Units of the Ministry of Social Affairs, continues to work and strive to reduce this risk by distributing basic food assistance to the elderly, where it is hoped that the elderly can still meet their needs and quality of life during this pandemic.
Beti Badrawati as the head of the social rehabilitation sector for the Social Service of the City of Tasikmalaya who received the delivery of basic food assistance for the elderly directly in Tasikmalaya City, expressed his gratitude to the Bekasi "Budhi Dharma" Elderly Center for distributing the assistance to elderly people affected by COVID in the area.
The distribution of basic food assistance was carried out in Tasikmalaya Regency and City on June 5-6 2020, which in distribution to the elderly was carried out by collaborating with several LKS in Tasikmalaya including LKS-LU Santiyama, An-Nusyur, Nurul Ihsan Al Faqih, Fajar East Indonesia , Welas Asih, Bani Hasan Ismail, Riyadlul Huda Manonjaya, Riyadhul Huda Sodong, Dharma Bhakti Datarkadaka and Baabussalam with a total of 460 basic food assistance packages.
