BLITAR (June 4, 2020) – Social Rehabilitation Center for Victims of Trafficking in Persons (KPO) "Mulya Jaya" in Jakarta belonging to the Ministry of Social Affairs which covers work areas throughout Indonesia continues to strive,reach and provide maximum service to Beneficiaries Family(PM).

As is the case today, located in the Pendopo Bupati of Blitar, Social Rehabilitation Center "Mulya Jaya" has distributed symbolic social assistance for the basic needs of the PM assisted by LKS Rondiyah and Rumah Aman Nganjuk totaling 50 packages. The Head of the Center, Juena Sitepu explained that the social assistance provided was not only basic food assistance, other assistance provided was in the form of Business Capital Social Assistance for PMs who had attended social rehabilitation in the center for four months amounting to IDR. 40 million for eight PMs.

Blitar Regent, Rijanto, welcomed this activity as a form of special attention in his region. Rijanto expressed his gratitude to the Ministry of Social Affairs for the social assistance provided to its citizens who are included in the Government for People Needing Social Welfare Services.

"I would like to thank the Director General and the entire Ministry of Social Affairs Team for the social assistance provided to our residents. This assistance is very useful, especially during the current pandemic," said Rijanto.

The Director General of Social Rehabilitation, Harry Hikmat, was directly involved in the distribution of social assistance. In his speech, Harry said that the current social problems are very diverse. Coupled with other problems that befall someone. Such as poverty coupled with neglect, poverty with victims of trafficking in persons, poverty with violence and others.

"It is difficult to get out of the grip of social problems. So it is not only poor or underprivileged but also poor plus other problems such as neglect, KPO, and violence. These must be resolved until later they can truly live independently," said Harry.

"Therefore, Mr. Regent, after this event we will also visit former PMs who already have businesses and have shown progress so that they can live independently and leave their past behind," added Harry.

Also attending the event was Director of Social Rehabilitation for the Elderly, Andi Hanindito, Head of the General Section of the Secretariat of the Directorate General of Social Rehabilitation, Herman Koeswara, Head of the East Java Province Social Service, Alwi, Head of the Blitar Regency Social Service, Romelan, and Head of the Family Population Control Service. Planning for Women's Empowerment and Child Protection (PPKBP3A), Eka Purwanta.

"Thank you for your help, sir," said one of the former PMs when he received a symbolic social assistance for the staple food.

Social Rehabilitation Center "Mulya Jaya" continues to distribute social assistance to former PMs and communities in need because the social and economic impacts caused by COVID-19 are still new problems. Through risk management programs carried out by the Ministry of Social Affairs, it is hoped that it can ease the burden on the community to be able to meet their daily needs.
