BENGKULU (May 28, 2020) - Observing the phenomenon of the COVID-19 outbreak that is still happening in Bengkulu, Dharma Guna Center initiated social assistance distribution to Bengkulu residents. 324 packages of basic food assistance were distributed to several districts in Bengkulu Province, including Seluma, South Bengkulu and Kaur Regencies.

The distribution of social assistance in the South Bengkulu Regency was received directly by the Regent of South Bengkulu, Gusnan Mulyadi, accompanied by the Head of the Social Office, Didi Ruslan, not to mention the Head of the Sub-District of South Bengkulu Regency and several ranks of South Bengkulu Regency government staff. In addition, there were also Social Welfare Subdistrict Workers (TKSK), disability services assistants, and beneficiary families.

Gunas Mulyadi said that it is impossible to banish the virus except to control them. The same cases also happen when dealing with Cholera, Smallpox and Malaria. Gunas Mulyadi also emphasized that we should not remain silent without any effort, "We have to get out of this condition and not repeat the same thing. We must adapt to a new normal to survive the virus. Three things must be applied in the new normal, namely wearing a mask, washing hand and implementing physical distancing, "said Gusnan Mulyadi.

In addition, Gusnan Mulyadi emphasized to all the sub-district heads who were present to socialize the new normal to their respective citizens to avoid COVID-19. Moreover, Gusnan Mulyadi expressed his gratitude to the Ministry of Social Affairs through the Dharma Guna Center in Bengkulu for their attention and empathy for providing basic food assistance to vulnerable and marginalized communities in South Bengkulu. "This assistance helps the community lighten their burden," said Gusman Mulyadi.

The assistance distribution in those districts was carried out smoothly according to the predetermined plan. All parties even positively responded and proactively distributed the assistance.
