JAKARTA (July 30, 2021) - The ongoing national vaccination program is the state's effort to protect society from the threat of the COVID-19 pandemic and to achieve herd immunity. The Ministry of Social Affairs emphasized its commitment to providing access to COVID-19 vaccination to all Indonesian people, especially people with disabilities who are a vulnerable group affected by the COVID-19 pandemic.
Melati Center in Jakarta, as one of the Technical Service Units (UPT) of the Ministry of Social Affairs, collaborates with the Indonesian Vertikal Hospital Association (ARVI), providing access to COVID-19 vaccination for 10 Beneficiaries (PM) in the Center. Vertikal Hospital is owned by the Ministry of Health which initiated COVID-19 vaccination services for the entire community, especially vulnerable groups such as people with disabilities and the elderly. Located at The Media Hotel, Jakarta, the first phase of the vaccination center will be held from 08.00-10.30 WIB.
The Head of the Melati Center, Romal Uli Jaya Sinaga advised Beneficiaries (PM) not to worry when they will be vaccinated. He also assigned a nurse to accompany the PM during the vaccination process.
“Vaccines are important to build our body's immunity against disease. There is a nurse who will accompany you during the vaccine process. Don't be afraid of getting an injection, because vaccines are safe. if you have any complaints after the vaccine, immediately convey them to the nurse," said Romal before the PM left for the vaccination location.
All vaccine participants went through stages of examination, namely registration by showing an Identification Card (KTP), filling in the vaccine participant's data, checking blood pressure, and checking medical history. Doctors allow participants to be vaccinated if the assessment results indicate that the participant is in good health and meets the vaccine criteria.
After the vaccine, participants must wait for the post-vaccine observation period to find out any side effects. At last, participants are given a vaccine certificate for the second phase of vaccination requirements at the end of August.
Of the 10 PMs, 2 people were declared not to meet the vaccine criteria because they had health problems that required further examination. Eight other PMs successfully underwent vaccination today.
Dimas and Putri, representatives of the PM, were not afraid of getting vaccinated. They even invited other colleagues with disabilities to receive vaccines so they would be healthy and Indonesia would quickly be free from the COVID-19 pandemic.
The person in charge of implementing vaccinations organized by ARVI, Dr. Kamal Amiruddin reminded Melati Center Jakarta Beneficiaries to maintain their health and always be disciplined in implementing health protocols even though they have been vaccinated.
"The vaccination program that we are implementing manifests the government's seriousness in accelerating the national vaccination target for all Indonesian people. Thank you for working with us and hopefully immunity will be realized more quickly with the cooperation of all Indonesian people," said Dr. Kamal.
