BOGOR (March 29, 2021) - In an effort to create strong and independent Persons with Disabilities and provide support for Government programs to maintain Food Security Stability during the COVID-19 pandemic, the Ministry of Social Affairs through the "Ciungwanara" Bogor Disability Center trained Beneficiaries (PM) in farming, this time they harvest water spinach.

Before the water spinach is harvested, it takes approximately 21 days to grow and be ready to pick. PM is taught how to plant water spinach, starting from preparing the seeds, land for planting, planting seeds, the maintenance process to the harvesting process.

The head of the "Ciungwanara" Disability Center, Siti Sari Rumayanti, instructed all employees to accompany the PM in the process of making food security a success which was carried out within the "Ciungwanara" Disability Center by planting vegetables.

"Hopefully, with this activity, PMs can improve skills in agriculture and understand the process from beginning to end as part of psychosocial therapy and entrepreneurship in the implementation of ATENSI," said Sari.

For the water spinach harvest on this occasion, PM can produce 20 bunches of water spinach which are ready to be sold. Within minutes, the water spinach was sold out. The water spinach produced is quite good and fresh. Fahri, one of the PMs who participated in harvesting water spinach, said that this was his first experience from planting to harvesting.

"I'm happy to be able to grow my own water spinach," closed Fahri with a big smile.
