SUNGAI PENUH (9 May 2021) - The Ministry of Social Affairs through the "Alyatama" Center responded quickly to the case of eight children of the couple Ali (46 years) and Nadira (34 years). This couple has difficulty in fulfilling the daily needs of the eight children.

Initially, Ali and Nadira were known to have nine children with a birth interval that was only one year apart. But one of their children died.

The entire process of childbirth for the eight children was carried out by Ali without any assistance from midwives or other parties. Nadira's condition, who has been paralyzed since the beginning of 2021, after giving birth to her ninth child, and Ali, who does not have a permanent job, makes their children's basic needs not fulfilled.

Ali's family's daily needs such as food are obtained through assistance from the surrounding community and the closest orphanage. On this basis, the "Alyatama" Center collaborated with the Sungai Penuh City Social Service in resolving Ali's family problems.

This effort is a follow-up to the direction of the Minister of Social Affairs, Tri Rismaharini, that the Center must be able to respond to problems found in the community.

"Alyatama" Center deployed a case response team consisting of the Head of the Center and the Head of the Social Rehabilitation Service Section to reach out to Ali's family. When met at the house, Nadira was sitting while carrying their youngest child. Nadira is paralyzed in her legs so it is difficult to carry out her daily activities.

During the visit, the “Alyatama” team also provided necessities in the form of formula milk, clothes, and baby toiletries. "I am very grateful for the Ministry of Social Affairs assistance, which has provided a way for my family problems. But I want to stay close to my children,” asked Ali.

Lifyarman as the Head of the Balai stated that Ali's children could be temporarily entrusted to the Aisyiyah Putri Sungai Penuh Child Welfare Institution (LKSA) to fulfill their needs during their growth and development. Ali can also visit his children while in LKSA.

"While waiting for Pak Ali to get a decent job and be able to meet the needs of the family, the children can be entrusted to LKSA. In addition, children can receive Social Rehabilitation Assistance (ATENSI) services in the community, "explained Lifyarman.

Lifyarman added that Ali's family could be registered as a beneficiary family of PKH (Family Hope Program) which is expected to help meet the needs of the family.

Haidir, Head of Sungai Penuh City Social Service confirmed the same and said he would immediately follow up on Ali's family registration as KPM PKH.

The “Alyatama” team then coordinated with LKSA Aisyiyah Putri and Putra Sungai Penuh. So that the children of the Ali and Nadira couple get assistance in fulfilling their daily needs through community-based ATENSI services.

As for the results obtained, Ali's children aged 6, 9, and 11 years were entrusted to LKSA Aisyiyah Putri, Sungai Penuh City, and boys who were 8 years old at LKSA Aisyiyah Putra.
