Termination of Beneficiaries, Social Workers Ensure Continuation of Services

MALANG (March 17, 2021) - The Ministry of Social Affairs through Mulya Jaya Training Center Jakarta terminated R (38 years old) and their son Z (7 years old) on (16/3) after undergoing a residential service program for 2 months at the Center. R is a woman who is a victim of domestic violence committed by her husband.

While undergoing social rehabilitation, R received various Social Rehabilitation Assistance (ATENSI) services such as psychosocial therapy, physical therapy, mental spiritual therapy as well as vocational training.
The Center also fulfills R's needs while in the hall, including the need for communication tools that function to make contact with the family as well as a means of distance learning for R's children who are still in grade 1 of elementary school.
R participates in culinary skills and has been involved in entrepreneurship development activities for more than 4 times by selling meatballs at the Pangudi Luhur ATENSI Creation Center Bekasi. After undergoing rehabilitation, R received ATENSI assistance in the form of catering equipment which was expected to be put to good use.
The repatriation of R was accompanied by Social Worker, Didik Ispranoto to the destination city in Malang City, East Java. Didik coordinates with the Malang City Social Office and the LKS for women's protection, the Women Crisis Center "Dian Mutiara". This was done because R's case with her husband had not been fully resolved and this became one of the follow-up services for R to be able to resolve his family's problems.
Met in her office, the Head of the Malang City Social Office, Penny Indriani expressed her deepest gratitude for having received Malang residents at Mulya Jaya Training Center Jakarta and given training as well as being sent home. She hopes that R can apply the knowledge she has acquired in her place of residence.
"Thank you very much, sir, with the assistance from the Ministry of Social Affairs, our residents can be helped. Later we will continue to monitor the development of the business that will be undertaken by R," said Penny.
In addition, this coordination is also carried out with the aim of advocating so that R can be included in the Social Welfare Integrated Data (DTKS) so that it can access all service programs organized by both the central and regional governments. Titik, Head of Social Rehabilitation Division, explained that R had been recorded in DTKS.
"Based on the results of a brief interview with the District Social Welfare Personnel (TKSK) that R had previously received Direct Cash Assistance (BLT) of IDR 300,000/month, it means that R has been registered, only not necessarily getting Family Hope Program (PKH), but we will coordinate with Social Welfare Center (Puskesos)," continued Titik.
