Head of “Antasena” Children's Center Faisal expressed his hope when opening the Art Therapy activity. “The beneficiaries should be able to participate in Art Therapy activities as well as possible, because apart from self-actualization by painting, they can practice controlling patience and exercising emotions. After that, you can create images and design on the media that has been provided. In the future, it is hoped that you will be able to develop your knowledge and skills in drawing and design after completing rehabilitation, so that knowledge and skills can support you in finding work/business”.
During the implementation of Art Therapy, the beneficiaries will be accompanied by 4 instructors who are a group of artists from Yogyakarta, led by Anang Saptoto. "Determine the theme, draw objects related to the theme and observe the media to be painted," he said when he met the beneficiaries.
On the first day, all beneficiaries were formed based on themes based on the type of livelihood therapy at Antasena Children's Center, namely salon groups, agricultural groups, workshop groups, arts and culture groups and cafe groups. The next task is to make sketches of objects that match the theme of each group with guidance from the instructors, so that the beneficiaries are expected to be able to recognize and explore the message depicted in the mural.
