The Distribution of PKH Social Assistance in Bintuni Bay
Not many people know how the struggles of the Family Hope Program (PKH) HR in distributing PKH assistance to recipients in Teluk Bintuni Regency, West Papua. Limited access and geographical conditions in the form of a cluster of islands forced PKH human resources to take a speed boat for hours to reach PKH recipient areas.
As in the video shared by Risal, one of the PKH companions in Teluk Bintuni Regency, described how hard the journey must be to get to his assisted areas in Kamundan District, Tomu District, and Weriagar District. He along with other PKH HR, local Social Office staff, and the Bank must board a speed boat for 4-6 hours then continue with a jukung boat to get to the shore. Even if the water was receding, they had to walk 1 km to get to the mainland.
They always do this risky job. Not to mention, the issue of security is also an important factor to consider there. For this reason, every PKH social assistance distribution, they are always accompanied by police personnel with full weapons. Extraordinary! Salute!
