The Formation of Disaster Preparedness Village in Wonosobo
In the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic, the Ministry of Social Affairs continues to strive to improve the preparedness of areas located in disaster-prone areas through the development of Disaster Preparedness Villages (KSB). After the formation of KSB in 772 locations in Indonesia, this time it was the turn of Besuki Village, Wadaslintang District, Wonosobo Regency to be chosen as the next KSB development.
KSB was formed with the intention of providing protection to the community from the threat and risk of disasters by organizing community-based activities. They were provided with provisions related to Disaster Preparedness, such as evacuation procedures, establishment of public kitchens, first aid, establishment of shelters and so on. In addition, the formation of the KSB is also to map the potential of natural resources, human resources, and infrastructure that can be used as support during disaster situations.
The declaration that was held on Thursday (1/10) morning in the village of Besuki was also attended by the Regent of Wonosobo, Eko Purnomo. Eko pinned the slayer and special cap of KSB members as a sign of the formation of the KSB Besuki Village. With the KSB program, the Ministry of Social Affairs wants people in disaster-prone areas to increase preparedness and reduce risks to disasters.
