The Government's Point of View of the Draft Law on Disaster Management

The Ministry of Social Affairs and Commission VIII of the DPR RI discussed the Draft Law on Disaster Management which has been included as the National Legislation Program (Prolegnas). Minister of Social Affairs Juliari P. Batubara emphasized that strengthening the disaster management system is an important aspect stipulated in the bill, including handling before, disaster emergency and post-disaster as well as coordination between parties in disaster management.

Not only that, the Disaster Management Bill also takes a systems and process approach in which the system runs coordinated from the center to the regions so that the disaster management system is carried out comprehensively and systematically.
