The Ministry of Social Affairs Involves Various Parties for the "DD" Legal Process
BANGLI
(June 7, 2021) - As a follow-up to
the legal process "DD" for motorbike theft which is still ongoing,
the Ministry of Social Affairs through Mahatmiya Bali Center is advocating
through mediation and coordination with related parties so that "DD"
still gets his rights as a child.
Present at the mediation were representatives
from Mahatmiya Center, Tabanan District Attorney, Denpasar Penitentiary,
Karangasem Fathers, Bangli District Social Service, Bangli State Junior High
School 3, Bangli Regency Women's Empowerment and Family Planning Agency (BP2KB)
as well as coaches from Gurukula Islamic Boarding School, where it is currently
" DD" underwent the determination of the results of the Bangli
District Attorney's hearing, namely attending education and training.
Previously "DD" had received a diversion for his theft case in
Karangasem Regency.
The initiation of this activity was carried
out taking into account the psychological condition of "DD" who has
undergone two legal processes and will undergo several more legal processes
related to 10 pieces of evidence in 4 districts.
As a mediator, Section Head of Social Services
and Rehabilitation Herlin Wahyuni Hidayat opened the activity by providing an
introduction to the material on efforts to protect children against the law.
The mediation began with the submission of the
position of "DD" in the legal process by the Head of the Legal
Advisory Sub Division, Ni Luh Sri Eka Pariarsini. "For the position of the
"DD" case, we will enter the prosecution stage. Actually, last week
we had a trial but it was postponed, so tomorrow we will have a trial for the
TKP in Tabanan with the theft of a motorbike," he explained.
He also said that in criminal cases there are
things that need to be considered. "Each case has mitigating and
aggravating factors, we will convey that tomorrow during the trial," added
Eka.
Furthermore, the Head of Denpasar Class I
Father's Child Client Guidance, Putu Yogi Hithawati explained that his party in
the "DD" case was only carrying out the mandate of regulations and
laws. "We really understand and appreciate holding this mediation to provide the best for the child. However, in the case of "DD" we
have done our best for him. According to the law, diversion can only be given
once in a lifetime and for as long as the child is and it is legal,” said Yogi.
