The Ministry of Social Affairs Provides LDP to Families of KRI Nanggala 402 Victims in Siak Regency, Riau

SIAK (26 April 2021) - Children's Center "Rumbai" in Pekanbaru which is the Technical Implementation Unit (UPT) of the Ministry of Social Affairs provides Psychosocial Support Services (LDP) in the form of family strengthening, support, and motivation to one of the families of the victims of the sinking of KRI Nanggala 402 in Siak Regency, Riau Province.

 

As directed by the Minister of Social Affairs, Tri Rismaharini, that the Ministry of Social Affairs will deploy a team to provide psychosocial support to the families of the KRI Nanggala 402 crew who have lost contact in the waters North of Bali since April 21, 2021, at 03.00 local time.

 

The Head of Center, Ahmad Subarkah, and the LDP team of the "Rumbai" Children's Center in Pekanbaru, which consists of 2 social workers representing the Minister of Social Affairs, Monday morning (26/4) go to Siak, Riau Province to visit the family of Marno, the father of Sergeant Bah Yoto Eki Setiawan, who is one of the Indonesian Navy Soldiers who are crew members of the KRI Nanggala-402 Submarine. Accompanied by members of Commission II DPRD Siak Regency, Rakip, and the Head of Jati Baru Village, Bunga Raya District, the Team headed to the residence of Sergeant Bah Yoto Eki Setiawan, the first son of Kris Handoko alias Marno Kumis and Rusini, a resident of RT 02 RW 08 Dusun Srimersing, Kampung Jatibaru, Bungaraya District, Siak Regency, Riau.

 

Sergeant Eki has served with the Navy Soldiers for 6 years and just got married in 2020. The deceased left a wife, Mita Sofia Kurniaviratama, who was pregnant in East Java. It has been a long time since Sergeant Eki lived with his father in Siak. Since his parents divorced, Sergeant Eki and his mother lived in East Java. The news of the sinking of the Nanggala-402 Submarine made his father, Marno, feel deep sadness and loss.

 

Responding to this, Marno hopes that he will be able to fly to East Java and meet his family there. "But not for now, I have a plan, but maybe later. For now, I still can't," Marno said to the team.

 

The head of the Center, Ahmad Subarkah, on behalf of the “Rumbai” Children's Center and the Ministry expressed his condolences to the family of Sergeant Eki. "For this sad news, we immediately departed from Pekanbaru to share our deepest condolences and greetings from the Ministry of Social Affairs, especially the" Rumbai "Children's Center in Pekanbaru regarding your son who died in carrying out state duties on the KRI Nanggala Submarine 402. Hopefully, the family that is left behind will be given courage, strength, and patience," said Ahmad Subarkah.

Psychosocial support services provided by social workers in the form of family strengthening, support, and motivation which aims to provide mental strengthening to the victim's family, to reduce sadness and increase motivation to return to activities as before.

The LDP has been implemented and is felt to be sufficient because for now the family, especially Mr. Marno has accepted the loss of Sergeant Eki. However, there will be continued LDP if other family members still need support.
