BOGOR (September 11th 2020) - The Ministry of Social Affairs through the Center for Social Rehabilitation of People with Mental Disabilities "Phala Martha" in Sukabumi HADIR implemented Social Rehabilitation Assistance (ATENSI) in responding to emergency cases of People With Mental Disorders / Persons with Mental Disabilities victims of stocks in Rabak Village, Rumpin District, Bogor Regency.
One of the residents with the initials SP 32 years old has been experiencing mental disorders since 2012. "SP" had received medical treatment but relapsed due to stopping control and taking psychiatric medication.
Nawawi as the father of "SP" said that "SP" had disturbed the community and had even pushed small children into the river. Finally we locked "SP" in the room, said Nawawi.
"We've been locked up in the room for 2 months but the condition of "SP" is getting fiercer. Often rages and destroys the door of the room. So we decided to keep "SP" in a small place outside the house by tying a chain on his hand," added Nawawi.
The Phala Martha Mental Center dispatched a case response team coordinated by Umar Khaerudin, Head of Assessment and Social Advocacy to respond to the emergency case of the stocks victim who was informed by the Bogor Regency Social Service.
The Phala Martha Mental Center team synergizes and collaborates with the Head of the Social Rehabilitation Division of the Bogor Regency Social Service, the Rumpin Sub-district, the Rabak Village Head, the Head of the Rumpin Health Center, Mental Disability Assistants (PPDM), District Social Welfare Workers (TKSK), Community Social Workers (PSM) and the local RT and RW jointly carried out the release of stocks, rapid tests and evacuation of "SP" to get medical treatment to Dr. RSJ. H. Marzoeki Mahdi Bogor.
On that occasion, the team also provided social education to families and the community so that they would not take shackles to ODGJ. Phala Martha Center also provided transportation assistance to "SP" and his family.
"Please use this assistance as well as possible for the purposes of "SP" in accessing mental health services," said Umar.
H. Wawan as the Head of Rabak Village expressed his gratitude to all parties involved in this activity and asked the residents who were present to report to the village officials if they knew other members of the community who had mental disorders and were shackled or locked up so that they could immediately be given help to the hospital. .
Furthermore, Phala Martha Center and the Bogor Regency Social Service as well as several Cross-Sectoral Agencies in the Rumpin District have made an agreement in the handling of "SP" after medical treatment and have committed to create holistic, systematic and complete services in handling the problems of people with mental disabilities in Indonesia.
