BANYUWANGI (April 25, 2021) - The Ministry of Social Affairs through the "Mahatmiya" Center for Disability in Bali carries out assistance and strengthening through Psychosocial Support Service Activities (LDP) for the family of the crew members of the KRI Nanggala 402 who died while carrying out their duties in the northern seas of Bali.

In accordance with the direction of the Indonesian Minister of Social Affairs Tri Rismaharini, the Ministry of Social Affairs also empathizes with and provides reinforcement and moral support for the families of the KRI Nanggala 402 crew members.

The LDP team at the Mahatmiya Center for
Disability provided first psychological aid, counseling, and trauma healing. In addition, compensation for heirs from the Ministry of Social Affairs is being prepared for the victims' families, and educational assistance from the Ministry of Education and Culture.

Previously, the LDP Team led by the Head of the "Mahatmiya" Center for Disability Sutiono coordinated with the Banyuwangi Naval Base (Lanal). "We share our condolences for the death of the crew members of KRI Nanggala 402 while carrying out their duties. Hopefully, the families left behind will be given the strength and fortitude to face this disaster," said Sutiono.

Banyuwangi Lanal Commander (Danlanal) Marine Lieutenant Colonel Eros Wasis welcomed the Ministry of Social Affairs' quick response to this disaster. "Thank you for the attention of the Ministry of Social Affairs for the disaster we experienced," said Eros.

Based on the information provided by Danlanal, there are four families of the KRI Nanggala 402 crew members who have been recorded in the working area of Lanal Banyuwangi, namely the family of Serda Pandu Yudha Kusuma, Kopda Kharisma, Serda Misnari, and Sertu Dedi Hari Susilo.

After coordinating with Danlanal Banyuwangi, the LDP Team visited three victims' families who were domiciled in Banyuwangi. A member of the LDP Team, Muhammad Sahibuddin (Social Counselor) conveyed his support to the victims' families and prayed for fortitude and patience from God Almighty for the calamity that had befallen them. "Tawakal (be patient) and surrender to Allah. Everything that Allah has planned must be the best for all of His people," said Sahibuddin.

Another LDP team member Herlin Wahyuni Hidayat (Head of Social Services and Rehabilitation) provided psychological reinforcement for the victim's family. According to Herlin, the power to live life lies within ourselves. "When we bring ourselves weak we appear weak, but when we instill in our subconscious we are strong, everything within us will be strong including our thoughts," he explained.

He also added that the source of children's strength is the strength of a mother. "Our children will be strong if their mother is strong. All of this is formed because of the emotional ties that have been established," continued Herlin.

Furthermore, he also taught how to self-suggest (hypnoself) to the wives of ABK and how to suggest to their children to have the power in the subconscious to live the next life.
