BANDUNG (July 16, 2021) - The Ministry of Social
Affairs through "Wyata Guna" Center of Bandung continues to
distribute eggs and ready-to-eat food to support the fulfillment of food needs
for people affected by COVID-19.
Head of the "Wyata
Guna" Bandung, Sudarsono said that the Public Kitchen at the "Wyata
Guna" Bandung Center as part of the Ministry of Social's response to the
Covid-19 pandemic situation where the implementation of an emergency Community
Activity Restriction (PPKM), and responding to the direction of the Minister of
Social Affairs, Tri Rismaharini to provide additional nutritious food for
health workers who are at the forefront of handling Covid-19 patients.
"Wyata Guna" Center
of Bandung coordinates with the Directorate General of Social Protection and
Security of the Ministry of Social Affairs and the Social Service of West Java
Province for the construction of a soup kitchen that supplies ready-to-eat food
and eggs for health workers in hospitals in Bandung Regency and City as a top
priority.
The work unit of the
Ministry of Social Affairs, namely the Indonesian Braille Literacy Center
(BLBI) Abiyoso, also helped by providing 1 car for distribution and several
officers who took turns every day.
The Social Welfare
Polytechnic (Poltekesos) Bandung provides 1 car for distribution along with its
officers. Meanwhile, the Lembang Social Welfare Education and Training Center
provided cars for distribution.
Today, 6,396 eggs were
distributed, 3,198 egg packs and 2,500 rice boxes were distributed to
hospitals, Community Welfare Institutions (LKS), communities, self-isolated
residents, police, community protectors, urban villages, and the Indonesian
Christian Church (GKI), thanks to the employees’ collaboration of "Wyata
Guna" center of Bandung, Disaster Preparedness Cadets (Tagana), and the
West Java Social Service.
"Telkomsel donated 2
tons of eggs, while Pertamina has coordinated just waiting for the
realization," said Sudarsono.
