The Social Minister's Visit to the "Bahagia" Center in Medan
MEDAN (November 12, 2020) - "Bahagia" Center in Medan received a visit from the Minister of Social Affairs, Juliari Batubara and his staff together with the Director General of Social Rehabilitation, Harry Hikmat.
His visit this time was to see the activities and developments of social rehabilitation and the facilities that support "Bahagia" Center in Medan.
The event began with the delivery of assistance in the form of 1,500 food packages worth Rp300 million through the Indonesian Taqlim Assembly Association - North Sumatra. The handover took place at the "Bahagia" Center in Medan while still implementing health protocols to prevent the spread of COVID-19.
Furthermore, the Minister of Social Affairs together with the Director General of Social Rehabilitation accompanied by the Head of "Bahagia" Center in Medan toured the facilities and activities carried out by the Social Welfare Service Recipients (PPKS).
On this occasion, PPKS on practical culinary skills demonstrated the ability to make palm sugar coffee which received a positive response and support.
The Minister of Social Affairs also visited the salon's vocational training room where PPKS were doing facials and coloring their hair.
These activities are expected to have a positive impact and add new skills to PPKS. The Minister of Social Affairs and his staff also took the time to tour several social rehabilitation facilities such as dormitories and dining rooms.
Quality improvement and improvement of facilities became one of Juliari Batubara's main concerns during his visit. Adequate facilities will support the maximum efforts of PPKS social rehabilitation.
