JAKARTA (May 6, 2020) - Director General of Social Empowerment invited the TKSK to guard assistance to the beneficiaries to make sure that the social assistance is right on the target.
In the near future, TKSK will help to oversee the basic food packages that will be distributed to residents affected by COVID-19 in Jabodetabek area. Director General of Social Empowerment Edi Suharto held a teleconference meeting discussing the procedures for the distribution of basic food assistance in Jabodetabek area to be escorted by the District Social Welfare Workers (TKSK).
In this case, the Central Government through Ministry of Social Affairs distributed 1.3 million food packages to DKI Jakarta residents and 600 thousand food packages to Jabodetabek residents as an effort to deal with the impact of co-19. Social assistance which is in the form of food packages is scheduled to be distributed until June with the amount of Rp. 300,000 / package given twice a month, which the total is Rp. 600,000 / month.
In the distribution process, TKSK is expected to be the front guard and as a broomstick to ensure that social assistance can be delivered to the right beneficiaries.
TKSK as a social volunteer who directly interacts with the community. TKSK plays an important role in ensuring that the basic food assistance reaches the people who need it. In this context, the function of TKSK is not only to make sure the social assistance meets the beneficiaries but they also collect the data of the beneficiaries. TKSK is also expected to be able to provide valid information to the community so that it will not cause various questions in the community, one of the ways is by coordinating with local authorities.
During the meeting, the Secretary General, Inspector General, Secretary General of Social Protection and Security, echelon II officials from the Directorate General of Social Empowerment, Head of Program and Planning, Head of Organization, Law, and Public Relation, Head of Sub-Department of TKSK and KT, Head of Section of TKSK and TKSK of Jabodetabek region.
Inspector General Dadang Iskandar emphasized that TKSK must continue to maintain accountability in the distribution of basic food assistance. In the case of distribution needs to be careful, there is certainly a possibility of conflict in the field. Documentation and documents as evidence are needed to prove that the social assistance reaches the beneficiaries.
Secretary of the Directorate General of Social Protection and Security Mokhamad O. Royani who also joined the meeting explained that the basic food assistance is used for people affected by COVID-19 who have not received any assistance at all. Both from the central government and regional governments.
