"Toddopuli" Children's Center Accompanying Cases of Suspected Children Victims of Online Prostitution

MAKASSAR (February 3, 2021) - The widespread news circulating in the community that online prostitution has occurred involving junior high school students in Makassar City has caused the "Toddopuli" Social Rehabilitation Center for Children Needing Special Protection (BRSAMPK) in Makassar to assist the case directly with the Makassar Police.

Based on the results of an assessment conducted by Social Workers from the "Toddopuli" Children's Center in Makassar, the alleged victims of online prostitution were 4 (four) people, namely the initials "N", "A", "G" and "M". According to N, A and G, they were invited by M to create Tik Tok content in one of the hotel rooms in Makassar. M was picked up by her boyfriend with the initials "R", they took several of their friends by riding their respective motorbikes to Hotel P, which is located in Makassar city.

According to their confession, the M family suddenly came and raided those who were in the hotel room. The M family was looking for a male friend who was with them but he is no longer at the location.

Finally, the four victims were brought to M's house and the immediate family reported the incident to the Mariso Police. And after three hours at the Sector Police they were immediately secured at the Makassar Big City Resort Police (Polrestabes).

According to the PPA Head of Makassar Polrestabes AKP Ismail that they have not been able to carry out further investigations into this case because until now the victim's family has not reported it to the Polrestabes.

Asnawati and Tamsil Jayadi, Social Workers who provided assistance to the alleged victims of online prostitution, they provided reinforcement and motivation for the thre victims e to be able to provide honest and uncomplicated information to the police when asked. The social worker also conveyed to the Polrestabes that the Center was ready to accept the four alleged victims if further guidance was needed.

The three men suspected of being the perpetrators have been detained by the Makassar Police for further examination and investigation. The police also promised to continue to coordinate with the office in handling this case.
