SIDRAP (March 6, 2021) - The "Toddopuli" Social Rehabilitation Center for Children in Need of Special Protection (BRSAMPK) Makassar carries out community-based Social Rehabilitation Assistance (ATENSI) activities through the Child Care Community Program in Sipodeceng Village, Sidrap Regency, South Sulawesi Province.

The Child Care Community "Sibawaki Majjampang" has been running since November 2020 and continues until now. The local government (Social Office of Sidrap Regency and Sipodeceng Village) has shown an extraordinary response by continuing the inauguration of Committees in the three hamlets in Sipodeceng Village to carry out the task of "Sibawaki Majjampang" which means collective child care in Bugis.

Christiana Junus, Head of "Toddopuli" BRSAMPK Makassar, said that the ATENSI carried out by the Ministry of Social Affairs was carried out through three approaches, namely Family, Community, and Institution-Based. Child Care Community "Sibawaki Majjampang" is an example of community-based attention. The spirit of this activity is to build community empowerment so that they are able to respond to problems and protect children that occur in their environment.

Besides “Sibawaki Majjampang”, “Toddopuli” Children's Center also fosters a children's community, namely Lingkar Sahabat Anak Raih Masa Depan (LISA RAMADAN). The strategy of this program is to involve peers in building child protection.

Nurhiddayah, Head of the Social Rehabilitation Division of the Sidrap Social Office, said that the Kompak and Lisa Ramadan that had been formed could build collaborations with partners at the district level in supporting child protection.

Christiana added that "Toddopuli" BRSAMPK is committed to assisting child protection efforts by sharing knowledge with the Committee regarding child protection issues.
