Visit a Neglected Elderly, MoSA Traces Her Family in Ambon and East Java
POLEWALI MANDAR (June
24, 2022) - Ministry of Social Affairs through Nipotowe Center Palu responded to
the case of Grandma Lisa, a neglected elderly who suffered a stroke in Mamuju
Regency. Lisa is being treated at the West Sulawesi Regional Hospital in
Mamuju and has been referred to the Polewali Mandar Hospital. Lisa has been leaving out her hometown since 1977. Based on the assessment results of social workers,
Lisa, whose real name is Sulami, has migrated to Ambon and Makassar before
finally settling in Mamuju.
"I've been leaving out my hometown since 77 years ago, I have two children, Harianto Kusuma Wijaya and Nurma
Manja. They live with their father in Ambon,” she said.
Lisa is separated from
her two children from her two ex-husbands who live in Ambon. According to the
search results of social rehabilitation companion in Ambon, her family in Ambon
is no longer known because the place she remembers no longer exists.
Social Workers also do
tracing at her place of origin in East Java. According to the Banjarejo Village
Head, Lisa's family is gone. Her brother, Yetmadi, was declared missing due to
a mental disorder, and Lisa's parents had died.
"We've checked our
population records, there are no longer any names mentioned earlier, so there may be no longer any of her closest relatives, Mrs. Sulami (aka
Lisa). My staff—chief clerk of the village-- said that there used to be a name
called Sulami, who has a younger brother named Yetmadi, but he has
disappeared since he had a mental disorder,” said Johan, Head of Banjarejo
Village, Pakis Subdistrict, Malang Regency, East Java when contacted by phone.
