Visiting Wamena, Social Minister Eats Together with Refugees of Conflict

The Minister of Social Affairs, Agus Gumiwang Kartasasmita, along with the Menkopulhukam teams, the TNI Commander, the National Police Chief, and a number of Working Cabinet Ministers, arrived on Tuesday afternoon in Wamena, Jayawijaya to visit victims of the social conflict that occured on September 23rd.

The group visited the evacuation post at Kodim 1702/Jayawijaya. The arrival of the group was welcomed by refugees who kept staying at the Kodim. Besides making dialogue with refugees, the Minister of Social Affairs and his entourage also ate packed rice with them.

At the end of his visit, the Minister of Social Affairs symbolically handed over 4.79 billion rupiahs to the Jayawijaya regional government to handle social conflicts. The assistance was in the form of logistical support, public kitchen support, up to venture capital.
