AMBON (October 22nd, 2019) - "Wasana Bahagia" Social Rehabilitation Center for People with Human Immunodeficiency Virus (BRSODH) Ternate carried out a case response to PLHIV affected by the earthquake disaster in Ambon, Maluku. This emergency response was one form of implementation of the Social Rehabilitation Program for People with HIV, which was carried out by "Wasana Bahagia" BRSODH Ternate. Some PLHIV who still live in refugee camps need help in the form of additional nutrition and other basic needs.
Some time ago, an earthquake of magnitude 6.5 shook Ambon, Maluku precisely on Thursday (9/26) morning. The epicenter was located on land at a distance of 15.3 km southeast of Kairatu City or 42 km northeast of Ambon City, Maluku Province, at a depth of 10 km. According to National Board for Disaster Management (BNPB) data, there are at least 103 thousand residents displaced after the incident.
In response to this case, the Head of "Wasana Bahagia" BRSODH Ternate, Udan Suheli distributed aid worth Rp. 8,000,000 to 11 people living with HIV affected by the earthquake. The assistance was received by Evelyn as a representative of the Beta House Social Welfare Institution (LKS).
The types of assistance provided consisted of 10 racks of chicken eggs, 10 sacks of rice, 2 boxes of cooking oil, 4 boxes of formula milk, 5 boxes of biscuits, 1 box of teabag, 1 box of coffee, 2 boxes of sugar, 1 box of toothpaste, soap 1 box, 6 pack diapers, 2 boxes of laundry soap and 3 boxes of fish.
The Indonesian Ministry of Social Affairs through "Wasana Bahagia" BRSODH Ternate hopes that this assistance can be useful for the Service Recipients of Social Welfare Services (PPKS).
